Medicines for human adaptation.

Bemitil first. Does it preserve work capacity under heat? A preclinical drug-development program. Human efficacy is unproven.

Does bemitil change gene expression?

2002 rat study (PMID 12227091): RNA-dependent antioxidant response. Indirect, mechanism unresolved.

Test molecular response alongside functional heat performance. Seek independent confirmation. Stop candidate advancement at month nine for failed replication or unacceptable safety.

The round

$1–2M pre-seed. An illustrative $1.5M allocation funds an 18-month preclinical program: 25% for functional pharmacology / PK, 20% for molecular profiling, 15% for authenticated material and formulation, and 40% for safety, team, data, IP, and operations.

US API supply and domestic development partners are secondary goals. No US API production or government partnership is secured.

The founder and current capacity

Gregory Battenfield is a merchant mariner working in heat and adverse conditions, with a banking and commodities background. He built Molekul.io: 90+ compounds and 400+ source records; founder-reported minimums, not independently verified.

No scientific lead hired. No lab contracted. No composition-of-matter IP.

Historical human reports

Human heat and exertion

1997 human heat/exertion reports (PMID 9162292, companion 9235216). Thermal tolerance and work capacity effects described; phenibut or its combination performed best; a bemitil-specific effect size is not available in the abstracts.

Historical occupational report

+13.7% static-effort endurance

1991 voyage paper: +13.7% static-effort endurance, 298 operators, 20-person detailed subset, allocation unspecified, not placebo-adjusted.

Book-reported human experiment

86.2% vs 68.1% of baseline

2019 monograph: 86.2% vs 68.1% of baseline dynamic-endurance retention in one bemitil arm vs placebo, 78 volunteers, no arm-specific n, no randomization procedure described, no controlled heat exposure.
