National-security research brief

Work under heat.
Evidence before field use.

Bemitil is the lead molecule. The first functional question is whether it preserves work capacity under heat. This is a preclinical drug-development program. Human efficacy is unproven.

Official burden surveillance

518 heat-stroke cases

MSMR 2025: 518 heat-stroke and 2,233 heat-exhaustion cases in active-component service members; heat-stroke incidence up 6.9%, heat-exhaustion down 9.1%.

Historical human reports

Human heat and exertion

1997 human heat/exertion reports (PMID 9162292, companion 9235216). Thermal tolerance and work capacity effects described; phenibut or its combination performed best; a bemitil-specific effect size is not available in the abstracts.

Heat attrition has a measurable burden.

The cited MSMR report was published in May 2026 and describes 2025 surveillance data. The case counts describe the research need. They do not measure a bemitil effect or prove that this program will reduce casualties.

[HEAT ATTRITION COST: verified figure and source]. No monetary savings estimate is claimed.

The financed decision

Antaeus Biosciences is raising $1–2M pre-seed. The illustrative $1.5M allocation funds an 18-month preclinical program.

Months 0–3

Scientific leadership. Authenticated material. Locked thresholds.

Months 3–9

Molecular profiling. Functional heat testing. Independent confirmation.

Month nine

Stop candidate advancement for failed replication or unacceptable safety.

Domestic development is a secondary goal.

US API supply and domestic development partners are company goals. No scientific lead is hired. No lab is contracted. No US API production or government partnership is secured.

The program is a research proposition. No field-ready medicine, procurement contract, agency relationship, or deployment capability is claimed.
