My case rests on a testable drug-development question. These are the decisions, gaps, and stop rules behind it. — Gregory Battenfield

01

Why not sell bemitil as a supplement?

I am building a drug-development company. Bemitil is off-patent, but that does not make it a legal US dietary ingredient. A new dietary ingredient requires an NDI notification and the relevant eligibility assessment; an NDI notification does not authorize drug claims. The selected route is IND-led drug development.

02

What is the Russian commercial history?

Soviet-era origin does not establish a verified commercial history or explain a development decision. [RUSSIAN COMMERCIAL HISTORY: verified source and account]. My investment case is the experiment we can run now.

03

What if the reported effect is placebo?

Historical reports do not settle causality. I want controlled functional testing with authenticated material, thresholds locked in advance, and independent confirmation. If the functional signal fails replication, candidate advancement stops.

04

Why you, rather than a pharma company?

I work as a merchant mariner in heat and adverse conditions. I bring banking and commodities experience and built Molekul.io to organize the research. That explains my focus. It does not replace a scientific lead, a contracted lab, or development experience. Those are early hiring and execution requirements.

Founder and open scientific role ↗Molekul.io work artifact ↗Exploratory source; does not establish lead efficacy

05

What happens if replication fails?

I stop candidate advancement. I do not rebrand a failed heat result as a proven cognition or recovery product. Chlodantane, dalargin, and ME/CFS recovery remain separate follow-on concepts.

06

Why heat rather than cognition?

Heat gives the first program one functional question: does bemitil preserve work capacity under heat? Historical human heat reports and the military heat burden justify asking it. Human efficacy is unproven. I want the program to answer one question before expanding.

07

What does the month-nine gate protect against?

It protects against continuing candidate advancement after failed replication or unacceptable safety. It also prevents a molecular signal from substituting for a useful functional result. Numerical thresholds must be locked in months 0–3 by scientific leadership.

08

What does $1.5M actually buy?

It funds an illustrative 18-month preclinical program: functional pharmacology and PK; molecular profiling; authenticated material and formulation; initial safety; scientific leadership and personnel; AI and evidence data; IP and regulatory work; and operations and contingency. It does not buy an approved product or a government contract. The allocation is a planning budget, not contracted quotes.
