Exploratory follow-on

A human signal in autoimmunity.

Historical lupus research gives bemitil an autoimmune development question. This is an exploratory follow-on concept. Work capacity under heat remains the lead program.

01

The human starting point

Historical human comparison; abstract reviewed

A 1999 lupus comparison (PMID 10572751 ↗) reports lower anti-DNA antibodies and disease-activity scores with bemitil-containing regimens across four groups of 15–16 patients. Treatments differed. The abstract gives no numerical effect sizes, randomization method, or masking details. This is an exploratory signal, not established autoimmune efficacy.

02

The immune-regulation hypothesis

Can bemitil reduce harmful autoimmune activity while preserving protective immune function? That is our research question. A connection to the heat-adaptation or gene-expression response has not been established.

03

Keep the disease boundary clear

The lupus report does not establish benefit in multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune diseases. Immune changes reported during infection treatment cannot establish autoimmune efficacy.

04

What a separate program must establish

A disease-specific program needs independent confirmation, clinically meaningful outcomes, and a safety assessment that includes infection risk. The full lupus paper and treatment groups require appraisal before selecting a clinical claim.

05

Heat first. Separate clinical development.

The current raise funds the preclinical heat program. An autoimmune program would require its own evidence, scientific leadership, budget, and regulatory plan. A positive heat result would not validate an autoimmune indication.
